Youth/Teen Sports

The Wapakoneta Family YMCA offers a variety of sports and classes for kids preschool through Middle School.  Sports include Soccer, Tball, Dodgeball, Sports Sampler and many more. We will also offer a variety of drop in sports for our Middle School Members after school.

 Fall I Youth Sports and Teen Programs

 

Lego League Robotics- Our first middle school lego league robotics meeting will be on Wednesday, October 13 at 4pm.  Meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 4pm at the YMCA. The Y bus will be available to all members of the robotics team on meeting days with form on file (available at the Y).  To register for the team please download the registration form and drop off with payment at the YMCA.  For any questions please contact Lindsay Zielonka at lzielonka@wapakymca.org

Tumble Tots- Tumbling is a great activity to teach your child balance, patience, coordination and much more.  We learn the fundamentals of tumble, while having fun and making friends. Tumble Tots is open to boys and girls.

Ages 3-6

Cost: $25/Members. $50/Access Members

Mondays- 5:30-6:15pm

Preschool Sports and Play- Developmentally appropriate introductory program for kids. This program prepares children and their parents for organized sports programs without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Children learn the fundamentals and beginning of different sports each week.  Parents are encouraged to participate and learn along side their child. Parents and children who are participating must bring a clean pair of tennis shoes for this program. there will be time for playing games and free time.

Ages 3-6

Cost: $25/Members $50/Access Members

Thursdays- 6:30-7:15pm

 Homeschool Gym and Swim- Do you want your homeschooled child to get physically active and make some new friends?Our Homeschool Swim & Gym Program provides an opportunity for local, homeschooled children to come to the Y once a week to develop healthy habits, make new friends, and enjoy new forms of exercise and games! We focus on teaching the fundamental skills and rules of the game while instilling the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. 

Ages- 5 (kindergarten)- 18

Cost: $25/Members $50/Access Members- Non Members

Tuesday- 1:00-2:30pm

Private Tutoring

NEW!! We now offer private tutoring sessions for children in grades K-4 who are needing a little help in school. Your child will receive one on one help with one of our tutors. We offer help in Spelling, Writing, Math and Reading. Purchase 1 or multiple sessions at the front desk. Each session is 45 minutes. Parents can request the best time that works for them, morning, afternoon or evening.

Cost: $15/session or purchase one of our packages

3 sessions/$35 (saves $10)

5 sessions/$60 (saves $15)

10 sessions/$125 (saves $25)

FREE Teen Nights at the Y

This free event is for students in Grades 5-9 from 6-10pm. We will have gym games, Christmas crafts and movies and more!  Dinner of pizza and pop and water will be served at 7pm. 

Teen Lock-ins

Teens in 5-8 grade are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 8:45pm and from 9:00-11:00pm we will have open gym and swim. After swimming pizza will be delivered at 11:30.  The DJ will play your favorite songs from Midnight until 3am when the dodgeball tournament will start.   Students must be in 5-8 grade and have their own permission slip.  Pick up is in the front parking lot at 7:00am.  New this year, lock-ins are pre-register only!  Forms will be available two weeks prior to the event.
