Youth/Teen Sports

The Wapakoneta Family YMCA offers a variety of sports and classes for kids preschool through Middle School.  Sports include Soccer, Tball, Dodgeball, Sports Sampler and many more. We will also offer a variety of drop in sports for our Middle School Members after school.

Upcoming Summer Specialty Camp Information

Specialty Camp registration for July/August will open on July 6.  Registration will be available only online until July 13. If you need help setting up an account to register for programming online, please contact Lindsay Zielonka at Registration by phone or in person at the Y will open on Monday, July 13. Be sure to register early as the number of participants will be limited as recommended by our local Health Department.   Once you have registered your camper, please download the emergency form and bring with you on the first day of camp.  


Fairy Tale STEM Camp- July 13-16 (5:30-7:30pm)

This camp is filled with fun, having a mix of our favorite Fairy Tales mixed with STEM experiments and crafts.  Each day we will read a new fairy tale and then complete experiments and crafts.  This camp is the perfect mix of creativity and scientific method to help challenge our favorite little minds.  

Cost: $25/Members $40/Access and Non-Members

Ages 3-8 (must be potty trained)

Environmental Boot Camp- July 20, 22, 24 (9:00am-4:00pm) 

You never know what you will get this week.  We will spend the days outside learning about the environment and our impact on it. We will do environmental experiments and spend  a lot of time in nature.  Campers will want to wear old clothes and shoes, have sunscreen and be prepared to spend time outdoors! Each camper will receive a drawstring backpack and water bottle. This camps runs 3 days a week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday)

Cost: $75/Members $100/Access or Non-Members

Grades 1-7

Preschool Nature Camp- July 20-23 (5:30-7:30pm)

Does your preschooler love the outdoors? If so join us for some nature fun at the YMCA.  Using the Growing Wild Curriculum we will explore the many fascinating aspects of our environment.  We will have a mix of indoor crafts/learning experiences, along with lots of outdoor fun!  

Cost: $25/Members $40/Access or Non-Members

Ages 3-6 (must be potty trained)


Basketball Camp- August 3-7 (9:00am-12:00pm)

Start now to prepare for the next basketball season.  We will spend the first four days training and learning the fundamentals of basketball through drills and scrimmages. We will take breaks through out the day to play gym games and enjoy some free time.  We will end the week with a mini tournament.  The participants will get a t-shirt and water bottle. Please be sure to wear tennis shoes and bring a packed lunch.

Grades 1-5

Preschool Art and Music Camp- August 3-7 (5:30-7:30pm)

Do you have a budding Picasso at home?  Bring them to the YMCA for a week of fun learning about different artist and their style of work.  And then we will try our hand at recreating some of our favorite art pieces.  We will take many breaks to bang on drums, dance and sing.

Cost: $25/Members $40/Access or Non-Members

Ages 3-6 (must be potty trained)

Preschool Sports and Play- August 10-14 (5:30-6:30pm)

Come learn the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, baseball, and more.  Our staff will teach the kids the basics of sports each day while the kids build friendships playing games and drills.  We will mix in some fun new gym games to keep kids moving, excited and having fun.

MOVE Summer Series

July 13-17, July 27-31, August 10-14

MOVE aims to provide Meaningful Opportunities for Volunteering and Education for students going into grades 3-8.  During the summer series students will participate in activities that will build a sense of community, character development, core values, and confidence through service projects and hands on leadership experiences.  These camps run 3 days/week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday).

Cost: $75/Members $100/Access or Non-Members

Jr Cavs Basketball Season Information

All teams have been formed and schedules are set.  The Rosters will have all the team information including coaches contact and practice times.  Copies of game schedules will be handed out at the first practice during the week of December 9.  If you have not heard from your coach please contact Lindsay Zielonka at or 419-739-9622

Elementary Night Out

Students in grade kindergarten-4th  are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 5:45pm.

FREE Teen Nights at the Y

Friday, December 13 we will celebrate the upcoming holiday season with our ugliest festive gear!  This free event is for students in Grades 5-9 from 6-10pm. We will have gym games, christmas crafts and movies and more!  Dinner of pizza and pop and water will be served at 7pm. 

Teen Lock-ins

Teens in 5-8 grade are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 8:45pm and from 9:00-11:00pm we will have open gym and swim. After swimming pizza will be delivered at 11:30.  The DJ will play your favorite songs from Midnight until 3am when the dodgeball tournament will start.   Students must be in 5-8 grade and have their own permission slip.  Pick up is in the front parking lot at 7:00am.  Lock-ins are $20.00 at the door with permission slips.  Early registration is not available for these events. 

Lock-Ins will be themed.
