Youth/Teen Sports

The Wapakoneta Family YMCA offers a variety of sports and classes for kids preschool through Middle School.  Sports include Soccer, Tball, Dodgeball, Sports Sampler and many more. We will also offer a variety of drop in sports for our Middle School Members after school.

Fall 1 Session- 

Jukido Kai @ The Y-This class focuses on building strong character in our younger students through the time tested art of karate. Students will develop the skills and acquire the tools that will allow them to successfully avoid danger and escape from potentially violent situations. Students will also learn the falling, tumbling and mat work skills of basic Judo. This training is conducted in a disciplined yet fun environment. Class is recommended for kids ages 5 and up We are excited to team up with Master Topp and Jukido Kai to offer this introductory Karate Class.  Tuesday/Thursday: 4:00-5:00pm   Cost: $30/Members   $50/Access Members                                                                     

Home School Gym and Swim- The YMCA is a great place for youth to begin learning about physical activity and healthy eating standards. Y staff will lead participants to learn methods to maintain a healthy active lifestyle over the course of their lives. We recognize the need for a well-rounded Home School Physical Education Program within the Wapakoneta Area. The goal of the program is to teach your child both respect for healthy habits, and also to develop confidence by learning new skills, building positive relationships that foster teamwork, and nurturing the whole potential of your child.  Wednesday- 1:00-3:00pm   Cost: $25/Members  $40/Access Members

Dodgeball is back!  Our free drop in dodgeball will return Thursday, October 3 at 6pm.  Free to members and $2 to other students spend the hour playing dodgeball, scatterball, and other fun gym games. 

YOUTH Basketball League- Registration has started.  Download forms here!  Evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 9, 5-6pm.  Uniform sizing will take place during the evaluations.  Mandatory coaches meeting will be held on Sunday, November 17 at 5pm at the Wapakoneta Family YMCA.  Practices will begin in December and Games will run January-February. New Program!!!!

Adventure Trips-Join the YMCA on a fun fall adventure. We will get some practice on the climbing wall at Marmon Valley to get excited about the upcoming expansion! After the climbing wall we will saddle up and take a one hour trail ride through the hills of Marmon Valley. The trail ride will be lead by experienced guides and adult chaperones will be with each group on the ride. The YMCA will provide drinks and snacks. We will depart the YMCA at 1pm and return at 6pm after a beautiful fall day of fun. Any students in Grades 3-9 (membership isn't required) are welcome to attend our kick off adventure trip for the 2019-2020 year! Cost: $40 (this provides transportation, chaperones, snacks, climbing wall and trail ride)

Elementary Night Out

Students in grade kindergarten-4th  are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 5:45pm. We will have gym games, karaoke, video game tourney, crafts and more. Free pizza and water will be handed out!  Pre-registration is required for our Elementary Night Out and space is limited!

FREE Teen Nights at the Y

Friday, October 4 come celebrate a Wapak Football victory at the YMCA.  This free event is for students in Grades 5-9.  The pool, gym, and lobby will be open for our students to hang out.  We will have dodgeball, scatterball, gaga ball and more in the gym. The pool will be open for free swim.  Pizza, pop and water will be served.  The night will end at midnight with pickup beginning at 11:45pm in the front parking lot.  All students must be picked up by Midnight. 

Teen Lock-ins

Teens in 5-8 grade are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 8:45pm and from 9:00pm-12:00am we will have a DJ in the gym.  The pool will be open for swimming from 12:00-3:00am and free pizza and pop will be delivered at midnight!  We'll be back in the gym from 1:00-6:30am where there will be 3 on 3 Basketball, Dodgeball and inflatables.  Students must be in 5-8 grade and have their own permission slip.  Pick up is in the front parking lot at 7:00am.  Lock-ins are $20.00 at the door with permission slips.  Early registration is not available for these events. 

Lock-Ins will be themed.
