Youth/Teen Sports

The Wapakoneta Family YMCA offers a variety of sports and classes for kids preschool through Middle School.  Sports include Soccer, Tball, Dodgeball, Sports Sampler and many more. We will also offer a variety of drop in sports for our Middle School Members after school.

Jr Cavs Basketball Season Information

All teams have been formed and schedules are set.  The Rosters will have all the team information including coaches contact and practice times.  Copies of game schedules will be handed out at the first practice during the week of December 9.  If you have not heard from your coach please contact Lindsay Zielonka at or 419-739-9622

Winter II Session (March 2-April 19) 

Jukido Kai @ The Y-This class focuses on building strong character in our younger students through the time tested art of karate. Students will develop the skills and acquire the tools that will allow them to successfully avoid danger and escape from potentially violent situations. Students will also learn the falling, tumbling and mat work skills of basic Judo. This training is conducted in a disciplined yet fun environment. Class is recommended for kids ages 5 and up We are excited to team up with Master Topp and Jukido Kai to offer this introductory Karate Class.  Tuesday/Thursday: 4:00-5:00pm   Cost: $30/Members   $50/Access Members                                                                             Class meets at St. Paul UCC                                                                 

Home School Gym and Swim- The YMCA is a great place for youth to begin learning about physical activity and healthy eating standards. Y staff will lead participants to learn methods to maintain a healthy active lifestyle over the course of their lives. We recognize the need for a well-rounded Home School Physical Education Program within the Wapakoneta Area. The goal of the program is to teach your child both respect for healthy habits, and also to develop confidence by learning new skills, building positive relationships that foster teamwork, and nurturing the whole potential of your child.  Thursday- 1:00-3:00pm   Cost: $10/Members  $20/Access Members                                                          Class will meet at St. Paul UCC for Games, STEM Challenges, and more.  No Swimming this session.                                  

Preschool Games- Your preschooler will get to experience not only the fundamentals of soccer, but they will also learn the importance of our Core Values. They will make new friends and skills in this half hour class focused on the introduction to sports. A great program to keep your preschooler active during the winter months!!  Ages 3-6  Tuesday-5:00-5:30pm Cost: $25/Members $40/Access Members                 Class will meet at St. Paul UCC

Girls Who Code- This new program is free to any students in grades 5-12.  The focus of Girls Who Code is about transforming girls lives through code. The Girls Who Code focuses on the ups and downs, the hopes and defeats, and the bravery associated with a girl’s first experience learning how to code. This free program will take place at the YMCA.  The Middle School YMCA Bus is available to any student registered in this program.  Membership is not a requirement for this program. Class will meet at Auglaize County Public Library

Elementary Night Out

Students in grade kindergarten-4th  are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 5:45pm. Join us for some Christmas Fun! We will split the kids into groups and rotate through the 7 layers of candy cane forest.  Once our journey is complete we will enjoy pizza and a Christmas Movie (The Grinch).  Parents enjoy the free time by checking out the stores downtown for last minute Christmas gifts.  You must pre-register by Wednesday, December 18.  No late registrations will be accepted.

FREE Teen Nights at the Y

Friday, December 13 we will celebrate the upcoming holiday season with our ugliest festive gear!  This free event is for students in Grades 5-9 from 6-10pm. We will have gym games, christmas crafts and movies and more!  Dinner of pizza and pop and water will be served at 7pm. 

Teen Lock-ins

Teens in 5-8 grade are welcome to join us for an awesome night.  Doors open at 8:45pm and from 9:00-11:00pm we will have open gym and swim. After swimming pizza will be delivered at 11:30.  The DJ will play your favorite songs from Midnight until 3am when the dodgeball tournament will start.   Students must be in 5-8 grade and have their own permission slip.  Pick up is in the front parking lot at 7:00am.  Lock-ins are $20.00 at the door with permission slips.  Early registration is not available for these events. 

Lock-Ins will be themed.
