YMCA Lifeguard Certification

If you're interested in a flexible, year-round job, then lifeguarding is for you!  Must be 16 years old by the last class and have access to a computer & printer and have an email address.  Course description and prerequisites are available at the Y.  Within 2 weeks of first class, participants will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the e-learning portion of the class.  Participants must complete all e-learning classes and turn in completion certificates before the first class.  Participants must attend 100% of classes and pass the water test and written exams with an 80% or higher in each chapter to obtain the certification.  This course includes CPR/AED, First Aid and Oxygen Administration.  Minimum of 6 participants needed to run the class. 

Fee: $210/Wapakoneta Family YMCA Member, $235/ Non-Member

YMCA Lifeguard Certification Renewal & Crossover

This course is for those who need recertified in YMCA, American Red Cross or Boy Scouts of America Lifeguarding.  Those with ARC and BSA Lifeguarding will be crossed over to YMCA Lifeguarding.  All certifications must be current (Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration (if YMCA certified)).  Proof of certifications is required.  Participants must have access to a computer & printer and have an email address.  Within 2 weeks of the class date, participants will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the e-learning portion of the class.  Participants must complete all e-learning classes and turn in completion certificates at the class.  A written and water test will be given.  Minimum of 4 participants needed to run the class.

Fee: $100/Wapakoneta Family YMCA Member, $125/Non-Member.

CPR/AED and First Aid

CPR/AED Course Description: This hands-on skills training prepares you to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. It also teaches the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Fee: $50/Wapakoneta Family YMCA Member, $70/Non-Member.

First Aid Course Description: The purpose of this course is to help participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies, and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.

Fee: $40/Wapakoneta Family YMCA Member, $50/Non-Member.
