YMCA Wind Damage/IMPACT - AREAS CLOSED

YMCA UPDATE (Saturday, March 14, 2026):

Thanks for your patience, understanding and prayers. First, we want to thank our roofing partner for 26 years and friends at Frost Roofing for being on site yesterday to secure some of the more dangerous flying objects and back on site today to finish temporarily sealing up the pool where we lost about 1/4 of our roof.

As of now, here is a tentative staged reopening:

Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 6:00 pm - The YMCA 24-hour door/wellness center will reopen to members who have a valid pass. This allows our repair crews to work without dealing with cars in our lots. We want to be clear that the area is expecting strong winds again tomorrow so we may need to modify this.

Many of you have seen the damages on social media or other media outlets, but that only shows you the damage on the exterior. There is extensive debris, damage and other items located throughout the facility. Therefore, the rest of the facility will remain closed until Tuesday. This would include all Mercy Health services, CORS, Nourish U, etc. on our campus. This would NOT include the CDC. We are working on a plan for YMCA before and after school care for Monday, and will communicate that to parents.
Tuesday, March 17, 2026 - We anticipate opening the facility back up to semi-normal operations with the exception of the pool, hot tub and saunas.

Unfortunately, the pool, hot tub and saunas will be CLOSED for an extended period of time until a permanent structural analysis is done and permanent repairs are made. This would be a great time to visit our friends at the Lima YMCA and the Dayton YMCA (Celina/Minster/New Bremen)! We thank them for helping us navigate this situation! We know many people will be worried about swim lessons and other aquatic programs...we are working on a plan and will let you know.

Again, we want to be open and serve you, but your safety, and our staff's is paramount to everything. Thanks for your understanding.
